So long .. Sun Microsystems
Yesterday has seen a lot of action. Apple announced its iPad. Obama gave his State of the Union and Larry Ellison completed the take over and change in control of Sun Microsystems.
I am very fond of my four and half years at Sun and I know why Sun is what it is today. I also worked for Oracle and it is a great place to work. Oracle has a singular focus on success and most of the times they succeed. Time only tell if Oracle would be able to bring the Sun brand back to its old glory. But if Oracle wants to do that, it must let go most of the Director to VP level Sun staff who were never accused of having an iota of business quotient and market orientation.
